Arguably one of our most enjoyable projects was undertaken when we were asked to convert 36 panes of shaped single glass into double glazed units. Replacing two bay windows with newly manufactured windows would’ve cost tens of thousands. With our specialist skills, we were able to fit units into the existing timber rebates at a fraction of the cost. But more importantly, the original timber was retained meaning the charm of the building wasn’t compromised.
Not only did we have the joys of the 2 bay windows at the front but also 5 sash windows to the rear.
The job certainly called upon our master craftsmen skills with the most challenging part ensuring the shaped glass fitted into the rebates without the sight line being noticed. Careful measurements and templates were taken before the job and the units fitted to perfection.
